This Tiny House
My friend Meghan and I spent a great deal of time during our drive to Portland discussing our own version of hippy-ish ideals and simple living. It was all sparked by this VW bus we saw on the road. It had red checked curtains, red trim and even red wheels. I was ready to move in and hit the road!
Yesterday, I spent some time thinking about how I could convert an old Airstream trailer into my home. Today I found something better: tiny houses.
I first saw this story here.
A home on wheels. It could work! Cheap rent. Shower at the gym. Maintain a simple lifestyle. I'm in!

Portland - Bring Your Bike!
I had the GREATEST time in Portland! A big city with a small town feel... and so many great shops and restaurants... I was in heaven.
If you're heading to Portland, here are my suggestions:
Vintage Shops: Rad Summer, Vintage Pink, SMUT: So Many Unique Treasures (7 SE 28th), Red Light, Shag. BTW Portland seems obsessed with Velvet Paintings!
Eats: Laurelwood, Voodoo Doughnuts, Doug Fir, Bye and Bye.
Entertainment: The Kennedy School Movie Theater, The Museum of Contemporary Craft, Art on Alberta.

Thinking Cap
I have this horrible habit of buying many many journals because I think they are cute. I also like what they represent: ideas, creativity, art, stories, brainstorming, memories, etc. Of course, what makes this habit horrible is that I have a tendency of holding everything in my head. It works most of the time. When I got my first Moleskine notebook I was immediately attached. I love that thing. Maybe it's the leather. Or that little rubber band that holds it all together. It's like magic.
I'll be using it to brainstorm ideas for this competition. A lifetime supply of Moleskines... a LIFETIME!

Sweet Coraline
I saw Coraline in 3D last night and I was completely mesmerized by the beauty of it all! Not just mesmerized... inspired! The intricate handmade details in this film alone beg you to see it. Plus it has a good story to go along with it.
So, in case you have that child-like feeling of wanting to just jump right into the movie (like I do) here's some things to help!
